PetSmart has launched its #MonsterCute campaign across all social media platforms and the result is, well, adorable. Pet influencers on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook have taken to the web to show off PetSmart’s collection totalling hundreds of pet halloween costumes. Users who upload their pet in a costume and use the hashtag #MonsterCute are entered to win a contest for a prize of $1000. The campaign grabs the attention of those ardent Manny The Frenchie followers, while encouraging engagement from regular users.
By relying on more than PetSmart’s own social presence, the brand has branched out with its network of influencers, and in turn, has increased attention around its halloween-themed products, and created a fun, creative reputation for the pet store company. Even if users don’t actively engage by uploading a photo, few people can hold back a smile at the sight of a chihuahua in a pirate hat.
The following influencers have succeeded in producing steady audience engagement for the #MonsterCute campaign on Instagram.
Sitting on a park bench trying to scare these human joggers and walkers in my triceratops costume. Why isn't it working?! They all want to pet me. You don't pet DINOSAURS! GRR! I will be working with @PetSmart this #halloween on their #MonsterCute costume contest starting September 28. Get your best costumes ready!! I will also personally be giving out a costume each week if you use #PetSmartManny
Instagram isn’t the only place proud pet bloggers are participating in the contest. PetSmart is also directly promoting the contest on Facebook and Twitter, with their own photos, which are equally #MonsterCute.
